Bickenbach Germany | 1968
A street scene in our little village - the buildings were old and the streets in the center of town were ancient. A great place to live for a year.
Old What’s-His-Name in London | London
Happy Birthday, Bill.
1968 | Germany - Ausfahrt, while sounding great, only means exit - but this exit seems to go nowhere except to some stairs. The lighting is what drew me to the scene with the dark tunnel and backlit courtyard and stairs.
Boy In Window | Germany 1968
Shot in Bickenbach, Germany - a little village where I lived for a year. Just a simple picture but made by the shadows of the scaffolding on the wall and the boy’s eyes peeking out.
Vietnam, 1968
On a visit to a ville (name unknown) south of Chu Lai to meet with the ‘head man.’ The ville had more permanent structures than most of the smaller groups and was friendly to Americans. This was one of two pictures taken with a small mini camera that I could carry to the field.
Petticoat Lane | London, 1970
Still on Petticoat Lane - So many of the people you see there are interesting - this woman looked like she had a deep secret she is hiding or hiding from. Again, a typical London dreary day that needed black and white film vs color.
The End is At Hand | London 1970
A street scene in Petticoat Lane. I had always seen cartoons and heard jokes about this type of sign but this was the first time I actually saw one. That woman on the left seems concerned but most others are taking it with a grain of salt. Shot on a cold dreary day in London but with a fast film (tri-x).
Weekend Contact Sheet #2
One of three contact sheets from Venice, with a few that got posted this week.
Venice, Italy 1968
In the Piazza San Marco, guess which one is an American serviceman.
